About Event
In 2021, three orange-pilled mates established Bitkiwi, with the idea of bringing bitcoiners together and helping grow the bitcoin community in New Zealand.
Starting with a series of events in Wellington, Bitkiwi went on the road to Christchurch, Auckland and Queenstown during 2023 and 2024. We also hosted the New Zealand Halving Party in Wellington in April, 2024.
A great community has been building through these events, with Bitcoiners at all levels coming together to discuss bitcoin and collaborate. Many of the awesome bitcoin projects appearing around New Zealand began from discussions at these events.
At the events you can purchase your drinks and other items with bitcoin over the lightning network.
The events are always free and open to all!
