Ridenour Ranger Talks

Join us at Ridenour Overlook on Fridays at 1:00 PM to learn about Raystown Lake’s primary mission—flood risk management. Discover how the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and partner agencies work together to operate Raystown Dam and Lake, helping protect downstream communities from flooding while supporting recreation, hydropower, water supply, and natural resource conservation.   This informal walk-and-talk program offers an opportunity to chat with park rangers and gain a better understanding of the important role Raystown Lake plays in the region.   Please note: This program includes a 15–20 minute walk and discussion at Ridenour and Hawn's overlooks and DOES NOT include a tour of the dam, spillway, or other operational facilities.
