May will see two simultaneous exhibits. The first is Granville Galleries–Fine Art Scenic Photography on Canvas. A Tyrone native and Hesston resident, Larry Laird spent 45 years in nursing before retirement rekindled a lifelong passion for photography—one that began with a Kodak Instamatic received as a Christmas gift. Never claiming the title of professional, Larry views photography simply as a beloved hobby and personal inspiration to get outside and explore the world through his lens.
The second May exhibit is artwork by Kia O’Quinn, entitled Art That Makes Sense. Art is all around us—yet we’ve been taught to observe it from a distance. Inspired by watching her mother crochet, Kia O’Quinn grew up to challenge that notion. Her interactive series invites viewers to touch, hold, and engage with each piece, believing that art was never meant to be locked away. In her work, the viewer doesn’t just witness the art—they complete it, making every experience entirely their own.
Both May exhibits will be displayed from May 7 to 30, with an opening reception on May 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
